Acrylic on panel ~ 8" x 10"~ completed 6/2008
This painting is a self portrait. It looks more how I felt than how I look. In fact, I don't look anything like this.
I feel like this on Monday. I might have titled it "MONDAY", except I already have a piece with that title. (which you can see in my gallery here on DA: [link]
Drained of energy. My eyes don't want to open. My head feels light, yet heavy. I can't remember names or things I want to do. I can't hold my attention. I can't concentrate. Little transparent things flutter and flow before my eyes. Little sparkling lights. The world feels dark and murky. I really want to go back to bed, but I know that if I do, everything get worse.
Ever feel like that on Monday?

CommentsThis is a beautiful piece and believe it or not, I've been working on something somewhat similar that I'm calling "Diseased." I'm sure we've got some sort of macabre connection as it's even (more or less) in the same color palette.
I honestly do feel this way on some days, but my schedule is so diverse that it's rarely on a set day. When I started my own deviantART, I thought I only posted works and ideas I've made or came up with. But I never thought of seeing other people putting so much effort and time on a painting. Its amazing to see what you have created and every time you put another one of your artworks, It inspires me to do better than I did before. Thank you

 -- Capitalism and religion kill the animals, individuals and society. They can kill you in a variety of ways, slow or quick. There can be no happiness or peace on this planet, no prosperity for the masses, as long as this slavery continues. Fantastically expressive. And yes, I can feel Monday morning as I look at it. Although, when Monday morning arrives, I doubt that I'll see it as beautiful as you've pictured it here. Awesome work, as always.
